September 2017 Technical Meeting

The Hydrographic Society of America - National Capital Region Chapter would like to invite you to join us for our September Technical Meeting. Our speakers will be as follows:
  • Brian Busey, THSOA National President - Brian will be making a presentation to Dr. Peter Ramsay on behalf of the Australian Hydrographic Society.
  • CAPT Richard Brennan, Chief, NOAA Hydrographic Survey Division  - Captain Brennan will speak on NOAA response to Harvey, Long Range Survey Plans, and Hydrographer Certification. 
  • CAPT Brian D. Connon, USN
    Director, Maritime Safety Office, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency
The goals of the first meeting are to mix and meet with our local membership, gauge individual interest to participate as Chapter Officers and in standing committees, and appoint a by laws drafting group. Our standing committees are:
  • Technical
  • Education
  • Innovation/Entrepreneurship
  • Programs
  • Corporate 
At the meeting there will be a chance to indicate your individual interest in participation.

The ByLaws drafting group will use THSOA ByLaws as a template and specifically tailor to our chapter.

Josh Mode and Paul Cooper will conduct the first meeting informally as the pro tem officers of the chapter.

The NCR Chapter Meeting at Blackwall Hitch Restaurant is on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront.
Arriving at Meeting
You can drive and on street parking in the area is available.  Two blocks North and South of King St is two hours free. Metro is also an option.  There is a free trolley from King St Metro to the Alexandria Waterfront each 15 minutes.

Non Members: $30.00
Students: $10.00
